Properly Clean Your Bagless Vacuum

Do you have a vacuum cleaner that does not use a bag?  They are really nice but did you know that they need to be thoroughly cleaned at least every two months to keep them in operative running condition?

It’s easy to do – just remove the canister and empty the contents into the trash can.

Next, take the canister apart to clean it in order to remove the dirt and rinse good with warm water.

Don’t forget to clean the filter.  Some can be washed but check your manual for cleaning or replacement instructions.  If you can wash it, rinse it with warm water until the water runs clear.  Dab the excess water with a paper towel to get most of the moisture out.  Then you can let it air dry.

While you are waiting for your filter to dry, give your hose areas a check to see if there may be any blockages,  The hose attaches near the roller brush and where the dirt goes into the canister.  Anywhere the hoses attach, give it a check.

You can remove hair, strings, or anything that gets tangled in the roller brushes by using a scissor to cut it making it much easier to remove.

Give the rest of your vacuum a good wiping down and then let the entire vacuum dry thoroughly before putting it back together.  Sometimes this can take 24 hours – especially for some filters.  You can take the hair dryer to it to speed things up.
