The fall with its beauty and coolness is on its way and will be here in no time. This is a great time to start preparing for those colder months to come. Here are a few suggestions to help you get started.
Your bed is important since it is where you get your rest. Making it cozy and comfy for the colder months help you to sleep better. Change your bed linens from a light cotton that you may have been using in the summer months to an all-cotton flannel and replace your bedspread for a heavier duvet.
It is also a great time to get into all the spaces that you may not always have time to clean such as baseboards, ceilings, and walls. Don’t forget the woodwork, and windows.
Your window treatments should be changed if you were using a more lightweight summer curtain. Put up some heavier drapes and this will help in preventing drafts too.
While we are talking about drafts – now is the time to replace your window screens with storm windows. Give your storm windows a cleaning before putting them in. You can also label your screens so you know which window to put the in for next spring.
Go through your drawers and closets to pack up all of your spring and summer wear. Get out and organize your winter clothes and coats.
