Take a Little Time For You!

Hey, how are you?  Everyone’s home nice and shiny clean?  No?  Haven’t had the time to really give it the thorough cleaning that it really needs?  Don’t feel bad, not many people have the time these days to really get into the nitty gritty of cleaning.  Actually, many people find that they don’t even have to the time to spend with family or even just to relax. We live in a very stressful world and it takes it toll on all of us.  

There are a few things you can do to try to destress a little as well as free up a bit of time to actually enjoy yourself.  One thing is to prioritize your life, clean out the clutter and not just in your home – clean out all the unnecessary things that are tying up your time.  Don’t let other people take up more of your time than needed.  If there are responsibilities that can be delegated to others, than do so.  Everyone needs some time for themselves.  

Another great thing that everyone can do for themselves is to meditate. Even if you have never meditated before, it’s not hard to learn.  Just sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes, take a few slow deep breaths and feel your tension start to diminish with every breath you breath out.  Pull in happiness and positive energy every time you breathe in.  Just sit quietly and focus on your breath, not the day, not what you have waiting for you to do, not your worries – just be in the moment and enjoy the peace.  Even 5 minutes has benefits and everyone can find 5 minutes to take care of themselves.  After all, if you don’t take care of yourself, you can’t take proper care of anyone else because you will be under too much stress, pressure and tension.  Your issues will still be there for you to take care of – but allowing yourself to take a little mental vacation from them, is just what the doctor ordered.  Allowing yourself time to relieve a little stress, and turning your focus inward – gives you the opportunity to see issues in a different light.  

Try some yoga or tai chi.  These are spiritual exercises that also relieve stress and bring in positive energy.  These spiritual activities are very relaxing, easy to do (some yoga is difficult, you have to take a spiritual beginners class or look into what is offered in your area) and they promote healing.  Any type of spiritual exercise or meditation will have great benefits if they are integrated into your life and doing these types of things will have positive affects on all areas of your life – even cleaning.  When things are focuses and put into proper perspective, when you start the process of eliminating the stress and clutter in your life – you see everything from a different and more positive perspective allowing you to be more efficient and freeing up time.  

Could cleaning ever be considered fun?  Sure it can.  It’s even more fun when you can sit back and watch someone else do it for you – like a professional cleaning service – while you go out and enjoy some fun with some new friends at your new yoga class.
